2008 Summer Touring

At 2007 and 2008 , I have spent allot of money on the AX-1 ,

even if I was full of dreams to travel , I managed to do one small exit , of 400 kilometers round trip.

I started from my home town , with a good friend as companion , he has SUZUKI Vstrom 650.

Loaded with camping equipment , GPS and other important items.

The trip end up as one adventure , the AX-1 was perfect in all , but my companion had to return urgently , and I had to re plan .... the four days trip , become two.

I did enjoy the trip ... but with the AX-1, the continuous riding of 90 minutes becomes painful for your rear soft spot.

So we did some breaks for rest and refreshments .

The AX-1 completed the first (Mega test) Touring adventure , with out any problem at all .

But to be honest , I did notice a problem , the new chain is not that worthy , lost its internal lubrication , and started to cause pulses at high speed.

I have kept the same chain for four more months , the chain did so far 4000 kilometers , but its not to be trusted for long time.

I have order as replacement , the best that money can buy ... DID 520 VX Gold X-Ring .

I will have it ,beginning of November 2008.

The trip was pleasant , we traveled to central north Greece , our target was to visit one small village called as Krania at Elassonas north to Larrisa .

It would be there a camping spot , and we shall meet with other riders from the rest of Greece , we find the place , but the camping was terrible , and we stayed there only 24 hours , the friend of my with the SUZUKI, had an emergency call ( Family matters) , and he left , so I stayed alone , and I planed as new destination the Meteora area , ultra high mountains and at the top of them several monasteries , as this mountains are by them self’s , as a physical fortress .

Good food , and friendly people in all my 400 kilometers trip ..

The PDA – GPS was playing my favorite songs , and GPS messages at the same time, as I had install special speakers in my helmet .

The HP rx5915 are a truly Travel companion.

Fueling ..... Well I did three refuels , about every 135 km , about consumption an average of 27 km/L , and I was speedy most of the time 125 – 140 km loaded with luggage’s and camping supply's .

The AX-1 was fantastic, even loaded and at high speed traveling , remained stable and pleasant .

By returning home , I was double happy , my motorcycle .. my work on it ... and my choices in the parts selection , proven worthy .

As about me , I have the pictures , so to keep the memories alive ..
