BIG FOOT !! SIDE STAND EXPANSION

Since the time that I replaced the rear  suspension with new , and rebuild the front forks suspension with WP springs ,  the motorcycle become taller .

The first problem that showed up was , that I got be splashed  with water from the wheels, but shortly I solved this problem.

The next problem was that the side stand was not enough ..  the motorcycle was standing with it , but it was very inclined , lets say inclined  by a dangerous manner .

I searched the web to find some specs or info , of how much its the proper (safe)  inclination level of one motorcycle , I did not find anything , so I decided to make my own practical solution  .

I found one aluminum disk ,  with diameter 7.1 cm with thickness 1.1cm , at the bottom of it there was another  aluminum round design ( off centered ) with thickness 1 cm, and 3,7cm diameter.

The total thickness is 2.1 cm , the disk was part of one bad experiment for other use , and I found it for free in one  lathe workshop . ( this part came from a solid aluminum rail)

The first thing that I thought was , that this part is heavy , so I asked from the lathe workshop, to drill for me, the secondary inner disk , so to be removed as much aluminum is possible , with out to damage the external shape , and they did it .

Now in my workshop , I did the rest work .

First ,  I drilled the main disk from bellow , to make it even more lightweight , and I did two main holes ,  so to add screws ,  I also did internal spiral , so the screws to mount in them.

Second step ,  polished the aluminum with special brushes ( details about the brushes in the AX-1 rebuild pages)

Third step, was to prepare two rubber rings  0.7 mm thickness its ( This is hard rubber , its part of a truck wheel , the internal piece, were the air balloon rest on the metal rim ).

At the end I used dual sides professional sticky tape, so to make even more secure the join between the aluminum with the first rubber ring , and the join between the rubber rings ,  I also made the internal rubber holes a bit smaller , so the rings actually grab them self˘s on the aluminum body.

With all the parts perfectly and accurately prepared , the final installation was very easy , and the upcome was 100% successful .
