Mud flaps on the way !!!
When I started designing the front mud flap, many friends of my, warned me , so to not make something that I will look as one ancient rubber mud flap , because it will damage the general look of the motorcycle , so I came up with this design .
From 1 Nov 08 this site runs on New server 1.5GB free space and more.

Few weeks later that the weather become rainy , I find out, that this design was not offer much , so I end up to use another solution .
The Yamaha DT , rear shock , mud flap , looked to be my next alternative solution, and yes it worked great , the motorcycle stays clean , and my shoes dry .

Rear shock mud flap !!
The rear shock mud flap from KTM, become my savor , the only problem was the curve of it , with the use of hot air , I manage to give it the right shape , and I install it very easily .
The best part is that it works fantastic well .
Bottom view, I had add one small tank pad sticker , so there is no direct contact of the mud flap and the swing arm .

Finished , and just perfect !!!

The new rear shock , does not dive as the old one , that’s actually the good part , the bad part is that now the original AX-1 rear fender looks to be very sort .
A friend of my, pointed me at the Touratech E-shop, there is a solution mostly for BMWs that suffer from the same problem , when they use after market rear shocks .

I made my own copy of it , but I had not install it correctly at the beginning , so the gain was very small, now I had correct this mistake .

Better solution after all !!
Well the above was my first attempt as cure ...but now I find something even better than that ... I found a second hand rear mud flap, from one Aprilia scooter model 1999 leonardo125 .
I paid for the part only 5€ ;-) .... I did allot cleaning and reconditioning – sandpaper’s – Vaseline , it become as new .
Then I started converting it , and it become the miracle !!!
I am very happy ... the new year will find the AX-1 totally complete , here is the pictures .

You are looking one Italian muffler, with the original Honda muffler protector on it ..
There is no need to say more .. :-)

27 of December ..... Now my motorcycle is almost perfect , the only things that I nag about, are about the Honda decals .
I have look everywhere in the west world , to find the original Honda decals , if some one could help me on that , it would be more than great .
I have order Honda AX-1 decals from some one, in the EBAY ( Malta ), and I am not happy with what I got, they are not correct , other is small , other have wrong colors .
The silver straps are white, all the straps are wrong size and shape.
I have, someone to help me locally , but he does not have the right material to make the front large decal (Gray, with sparkles in it ) .
The weather report about this weekend its positive , that we will have sunny weather , if this turn true, I will take some new photos of my AX-1 and me .
Now, we have also, the front fender on :-) and all the flaps !!!
